Hajk – Get It Right

Get It Right by Norwegian band Hajk is a real delicacy for your ears. This smooth, refreshing track is simultaneously calm and peppy, making it perfect listening material for a tranquil moment or a social occasion with friends. Its catchy melody is instantly addictive so put your headphones on and indulge your antennae!

If I could tell you how I really feel
I could be honest, be real
I’d be the best version of myself
Wouldn’t be trippin’, not make a mess
But I don’t always know what to say
And I can be a fool when I’m afraid
Cause nothing seems to last forever

The insightful and honest lyrics contemplate a vulnerable, sensitive notion, in which many of us have correlating experiences. The insecurities one endures when divulging their true feelings, unsure of the reception they will receive or if they will ‘get it right’, can be perceived in this track.

The musicality is very interesting, inevitably alluring the audience. The breaks, particularly the bass and drums arrangements at the beginning, peak one’s curiosity. The synthesised soundscape also adds a dreamy effect. The beautiful vocals tell a captivating story, encompassing susceptibility with seamless ease. The delicate instrumentation enables the vocals to be at the forefront of this piece.

Hajk is an Oslo based quintet comprised of Preben Sælid Andersen (vocals, guitar), Sigrid Aase (vocals, percussion), Knut Olav Sandvik (vocals, bass), Einar Næss Haugseth (keyboards) and Johan Nord (drums). About their collaboration, the group once stated in an interview, “We met at the same school seven years ago, playing everything else but pop and rock. The day we graduated, we felt an immediate urge to do something else. Hajk was the way to go! Mixing both female and male vocals, playing pop and rock, ballads and upbeat-songs about the good things and the bad things in life.”

What a wonderful project which has generated wonderful music! Get It Right by Hajk is the second track on their sophomore album titled Drama, released in 2019. We love it and hope you do too! This is definitely one to be listened to without moderation!
