Olivia Dean – Echo

Three words come to mind when I listen to the track Echo by Olivia Dean: smooth, smooth and smooth! This perfectly arranged single fuses the smooth music perfectly with Dean’s strong, intriguing but smooth voice. Altogether a melodious song with a magnetic draw has been created.

A young Londoner, Dean’s relatable lyrics and experiences appeal to listeners and have garnered success. It’s no surprise that she was named Amazon Music’s 2021 Breakthrough Artist. The track Echo is part of an assemblage of songs that narrate the break down of a relationship.

Olivia Dean explains, “There’s a sad and longing one, the upbeat heartbreak one, the confused and indecisive one and a confrontational, angry one. I wanted to cover all bases.” Echo is the confrontational, angry one. Dean goes on to describe the song as being about, “the times you need an ear and support for a problem, no matter how big or small. It could be a situation with a partner, friend or family member where you don’t need a solution, you just need back up, someone to amplify you.”
