Brijs – Mol y Sol
A breakup is not an easy situation. And it’s even worse when the other person was a good friend of yours, part of your inner circle. In that case, your social life feels like a battlefield with countless victims. Hugo Brijs, aka Brijs, has lived one of these hurtful adventures which gave birth to the Mol y Sol single on his Glitra album, released in 2021.
The pop rock song sounds, however, very bright and positive, the synth and oriental guitar will paint your day with a good vibes palette, so smile and put your headphones on!
Oscar Wilde said one day (probably a Friday… or was it a Wednesday?), “The heart was made to be broken”. In this sentence, this amazing author wanted, I’m sure, to highlight the humans’ sensitivity and one’s ability to love. But, we’ll all agree that we prefer that kissy-kissy period at the beginning of a relationship than the aching end of it, no?
The UK-based producer and singer songwriter commented about Mol y Sol: “The ideal breakup ends with you walking away confident and settled in your decision and happy to move on but we all know that 99% of the time that’s not the reality. This song was written about the end of a relationship I had with someone who was part of a tight-knit friendship group I lived with for two years. The process of dismantling our relationship surrounded by friends who were invested in us was incredibly difficult and confusing. It ultimately brought a painful and bittersweet end to that golden period – we moved out soon after.”
Starting a love relationship with a friend is like walking on a mine field, it’s in the same category of “do not french-kiss work colleagues”. Yep. You don’t want to do that. Nope.
Thankfully, I’m already married with Sheila and that is the big boss-level of a relationship… Oh I can hear her calling me…
Yes! I’m coming Pumpkin!

About headphonik
We are musicians and to help unknown or “less” known artists to promote their art, we became curators, so we curate and explore the web to find what’s really good and probably underrated in independent music.
Enjoy and take care.
