CARM feat. Maya Hawke – Song of Trouble

The stunning debut of the indie folk track Song of Trouble by CARM, featuring Maya Hawke, gives you goose bumps. The smoothly stirring mix of the French horn with the trumpet is a celebration for the ears. It is so uniquely different that it’s instantly attention grabbing. CARM, otherwise known as CJ Camerieri, is a Julliard graduate who plays the trumpet and French horn as well as being a composer and songwriter. This New Jersey born and bred artist has recently released his self titled debut album. Song of Trouble does appear on this album however Sufjan Stevens‘s wonderful vocals accompany the instrumentation. On the latest release of this song, in 2022, it is Maya Hawke‘s singing which graces our antennae. Her silvery emotion emitting voice has that remarkable story telling quality. The acoustic guitar coupled with the wind instruments is riveting. Maya Hawke, also a Julliard alumni, is a New York native. She is a singer/songwriter, model and actress. Hawke released her debut album titled Blush in 2020.

Not only are the vocals and instrumentation touching, the lyrics too explore a world of trouble and struggle.
