Our Violet Room – The Bird Song

Our Violet Room takes us to his storytelling universe again with another great musical piece. The Bird Song is a dark tale whose atmosphere and perfect harmony will give you goosebumps. Matthew Birch aka Our Violet Room is definitely one of my favourite poetic songwriters at the moment. So put your headphones on and fly through the air!

The cello. I don’t know what was the most vibrating moment for you in this beautiful song, but for me it was the cello at 0:46. The strings, in general, take this single a step higher. I mean, listen to the harmonious violins and the mellifluous acoustic guitar which match the vocals perfectly!
And this cello… slowly painting a gloomy feeling in your head. The Bird Song is such a nice piece.

“Poetic” is the adjective that first comes to my mind every time I evoke Our Violet Room’s art. But there is also that magical surprise that every new song has its own atmosphere, its own storytelling sequence.
Yes, Our Violet Room’s stories are, most of the time, emotionally melancholic, but hey, isn’t life a bit challenging sometimes?
When I listen to The Bird Song, or any of Our Violet Room’s songs, I feel that Matthew is handing me a piece of humanity.

The Bird Song is a track from this fall’s EP titled Ode to Tim and Danny which Our Violet Room released for Halloween. I can only recommend you go and listen to this guy’s work, you’ll have the impression of browsing a melodious book of tales.
