Gone Gone Beyond – Marigold

Marigold from Gone Gone Beyond is a message of hope and a love declaration to Mother Earth. Where will you be in 2030? Me? I’ll still be here listening to Gone Gone Beyond. Seriously guys, am I the only one to get goosebumps every time Mel Semé starts singing this song? So put your headphones on and get goosebumped the hard way!

Gone Gone Beyond is a “superband” created by producer David Block aka The Human Experience. The group is an international mix composed of Mel Semé (Cuba/Catalonia), Danny Musengo (Iowa/NYC), Kat Factor (Santa Cruz) and David Block himself (Los Angeles/NYC).
Marigold is the last track of the divine folk album named 2030 released in 2021. There is not one note, one millisecond I don’t like in this album. If you sit back, close your eyes and listen to this album, it will take you far away and… even “beyond” that (too easy? Ok, I won’t do it again).
The voice of Mel Semé, a slight falsetto, accompanied by these acoustic guitars and the other guys’ backing vocals gives me the chills so much my whole body is vibrating like… hum… a phone ringing?

The song carries also a message of hope about mankind and our planet, a topic which resonates in all of us. If only politicians subscribed to headphonik and listened a bit more to Gone Gone Beyond, that would be fantastic! But as Mel sings…

Maybe it takes a whole bunch of lives
To ever really find our place
To ever really get it right
Or maybe there’s a whole lot to lose
So you can do what you’d like
Or you can do what you should
