Morly – Dance to You

The composition Dance to You by Morly, released in 2021, exudes smooth sensuous seduction. Creating a relaxed, placid ambience, one could close their eyes and imagine themselves in a jazz lounge sipping on a beverage. So put your headphones on and order your favourite drink!

The elegant musicality has been delicately arranged to create a soft, down tone feel which is alluring at the least. A mellow piano rhythm debuts the track, constructing a stirring but soothing atmosphere. The use of a synthesizer adds a dreamy effect while the drum cymbals offer the jazz quality. Morly‘s soulful, smouldering vocals tell the tale of the inspiration others may bring, like a muse, and alas the limits of some such relationships.

In a press release about the song Dance to You, Morly divulged, “‘Dance to You’ is about the need for—and is the vehicle for—a benevolent exorcism. It sprang from an encounter with someone so radiant to me that they helped light my way, but that I had to outgrow in order to see my own brilliance: I can’t grow/inside your glow.”

Morly is the stage name of Katy Morley, a Minneapolis-born, London-based visual artist and singer-songwriter. Dance To You is the second track on her latest album titled ‘Till I Start Speaking.
