From start to finish the drums and keyboard set the smooth scene. The keyboard in particular, creates that dreamy beach vibe. Then the bass and guitar arrive for the bridge and chorus, adding groove. The funky guitar even delights us with a small solo just after the 3 minute mark which shouldn’t be missed. The vocals are smoky and seductive. One of the verses is partly in French adding to the irresistible allure of the piece. That play on the male – female vocals develops the storyline of that couple longing to meet once again.
Soap are a young, self proclaimed bedroom pop group from Costa Rica. The group is comprised of singer-songwriter Adélie, keyboardist and bassist Mariano, guitarist and bassist Gugi and drummer Alfred. Currently the quartet are spread out, with Adélie studying in Paris and Alfred in Moscow, while the other members remain in Costa Rica. When discussing the benefits of long distance collaboration, the group once stated that, “We think that working at a distance helps us to be more productive, in the sense that we are more distracted when we are all together. Also, our identity as an internet band has its novelty.”
babychair is a three piece Malaysian band based in Kuala Lumpur consisting of lead vocalist Sean, multi-instrumentalist Aaron and Young on the keyboard and synthesizer. About their music, they once said, “With our different backgrounds and inspirations, we aim to create music that soothes you and ourselves. Always think freely and imagine the unimaginable.”
