Ailbhe Reddy – Walk Away

Ailbhe Reddy is an Irish singer-songwriter who recently released Walk Away, a single featured on her debut album titled Personal History. This ruminant and pensive track has a melancholy tone. The soothing but daunting strikes on the piano, the constant rhythm of the percussion and clap are forged masterfully with the almost whispering of the lyrics.

Reddy explains, “‘Walk Away’ is about ending a relationship with a lot of uncertainty. I think in most relationships when two people still care about each other it is more difficult to end things, it can feel like the only option but also like something you may come to regret.”

This artist from Dublin acquired an interest in music from an early age, often listening to a variety of genres while the passenger in her mother’s car. She started recording tracks in her bedroom. Such initiative and tenacity have paid off. Even though various gigs and her album release have been delayed by recent circumstances, we feel new opportunities arising for Ailbhe Reddy in 2022.
