What does it really mean to be human? A very philosophical question, isn’t it? Kind of trippy as well, the sort of questions you don’t ask yourself everyday unless it’s 4am in the morning and, hum… let’s say you had an interesting night… Heels is the fourth single of the album Beyond The Skin from My Elephant Ride, released in 2019, and it’s all about exploring love, gender, sexuality, faith and what lies on the other side. So, sit back, get comfy and put your headphones on…

The band from Melbourne, Australia, is composed of Joe Berridge, Chevaunne Keleher and Nathan Abbey who met in University. Heels is about gender in a spiritual way.

Chevaunne Keleher commented about My Elephant Ride‘s work: “We like to write about the cosmic side of life, combining elements of psych, pop and folk. We try to keep our guitars and synths spacey and our vocals heartfelt.“

Interviewed on Beyond The Skin in female.com.au, Chevaunne added: “It’s important to not take what you see before you for granted, and keep a sense of wonder about the mysteries of love, identity, the universe and the power within.“

The atmospheric guitars and keys in Heels are definitely soulful and will have a good vibe effect on you.
