Madi Diaz – Crying in Public

That vulnerable feeling of being exposed in front of onlookers and not quite having the control to hold your emotions at bay is something many of us would be uncomfortable with. That lump in your throat that you try to suppress but continues to well up until you can no longer contain it. This exact topic is broached by Madi Diaz in her latest single, fittingly called, Crying In Public. The raw emotion can be felt with each strum of the acoustic guitar and Diaz’s silvery, emotional prosody vocals which take you right to that place, Crying In Public!

But here I am cryin’ in public
I am strong and it’s stronger than I am right now
Tryna keep it in but it’s comin’ out

But here I am cryin’ in public

In relation to this number, the Nashville based singer-songwriter, Diaz stated, “There’s something so ultimate and forgivable about crying in front of strangers that you will never see again. Just letting it fly in the dairy aisle while you’re checking your carton of eggs for cracked ones, letting out a good loud sob in the security line at an airport, screaming in your car at the top of your lungs parked in front of your house, just letting the full heat of violent emotion take the wheel and you’re just riding shotgun.”

We agree with you Madi, a good cry is an amazing release, and yes completely forgivable! Another amazing release is singing this song, especially the refrain, at the top of your lungs (perhaps even in public)!
