Isbells – Do You Want Me to Do to You What I Want You to Do to Me Too, Do You?

“Do You Want Me to Do to You What I Want You to Do to Me Too, Do You?“, OK, apart from being the longest title in history, it does the job very well and puts you in the right context from the start. I love this kind of humour, subtle but powerful.
Isbells (Gaëtan Vandewoude, Chantal Acda, Christophe Vandewoude, Gerd Van Mulders and Gianni Marzo), the Belgian band from Leuven, has composed a song full of details which takes you to the edge between fun and sexyness.

First, you have this groove on the bass, not too fast, not too slow, not too rich, just enough to make your body react. Then, as the bass partner, you have these supporting chords on the keyboard, just a few languid ones setting up the atmosphere…
The constant rhythm on the drums highlights the “chill” effect and only stops to focus on the voices.
And finally, of course, you have the vocals… Gaëtan’s deep voice mixed with Chantal’s soft one during the choruses, repeating the “Do you want me…” sentence brings the kinky effect!

I try to look good
I’m next to the bar
Looking at you
This is love
At first sight
You move in slow motion
Dancing wild“
