Yves Paquet – The Conqueror

There is no doubt Yves Paquet will conquer your heart with his brand new release called… The Conqueror! This is another great piece from the pop folk singer-songwriter, the third single from his upcoming album which will be available in February 2023. A title which reminds me of honour and chivalry, so Milady, Milord, thou shalt put that helmet on and pump this volume up!

Yves Luiz Paulo Paquet is a Brazil-born Belgian artist whose voice gives a soul colour to his pop folk music. In fact, his first album called “Every Now and Then”, which is a pure gem and was released in 2021 is a soul album. Following the release of this record, Yves felt he had to explore another musical genre which was close to his heart: folk.

The Conqueror is a pop folk title and was written with Renato Màrquez, violinist at Klingande. The song is directly inspired by Plautus’s maxim “Victi vincimus” (conquered, we conquer).
What I usually like in Yves Paquet’s music is the mix of genres. And The Conqueror is another great example! It mixes classical with a powerful violin, funk with these groovy strums on the guitar and soulful pop with Yves’s vocal performance. Nice.
