Mar Malade – Jungle

The expression ‘It’s a jungle out there,‘ is usually a warning that life is, at times, a dangerous, wild and impenetrable place. However, Mar Malade‘s recent release, also titled Jungle, is anything but a warning. To the contrary, it is an invitation to escape one’s daily stresses, mundane duties and constraints to enjoy a moment of … freedom! So put your headphones on and pack your bags, ready for a liberating adventure!

From the very first note, the song Jungle by Mar Malade, exudes an engrossing and somewhat exotic soundscape. The rhythmic percussion sets the scene for this fun fuelled escapade. Further instruments melt together to create salsa melodies which are impossible not to dance to! The brass section takes the piece to new heights, climaxing after each chorus. The vocals are smooth and deliciously melodious.

Head all over me
Like branches and trees
So I dance so rhythmical
Lost, I’m finally lost
Along with myself
Like Moses, so biblical

The escapism notion and ambience projected by he song Jungle is a real breath of fresh air. It is ridiculously danceable and liberating. About the song, Mar Malade stated on social media, “It’s a song about wandering around in the ›jungle‹ inside of your own head. Dancing deeper and deeper into the wilderness of thoughts and feelings to finally feel free – getting lost.”

Alexander Hauer and Michèl M. Almeida are the creative duo who make up Mar Malade. These two friends from Germany play, record and produce their work. Mar Malade‘s track Jungle was recently released in May 2022. Even though it is yet to be attributed to an album, it is ready to be attributed to your favourite dance playlist.
