Southern Avenue – Pressure

A chance meeting at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis is what brought the group Southern Avenue to life. Now three records, various accolades, a marriage and three children later, Ori Naftaly, from Israel, and Tierinii Jackson, from Memphis, as well as their band mates are shooting for stars. Indeed Naftaly (guitarist, songwriter) and Jackson (lead vocals and songwriter), Jeremy Powell (keyboards), Tikyra Jackson (drummer, vocals) and Evan Sarver (bassist) are the talented pentad of Southern Avenue.

Every member in this outfit firmly has their place and contributes their special talent to the song Pressure. The amazing powerhouse vocals, the scintillating guitar riffs, the guiding clamour of the drums, the sonorous bass leading the blasts of brass, the musicality of this bewildering track, Pressure, makes you wish you were watching them live!

Speaking about the quintet which are Southern Avenue, Ori Naftaly muses, “We’re definitely a melting pot of different experiences, different backgrounds and different cultures. It’s hard to put us in a box, both literally, and musically. Southern Avenue doesn’t sound like anybody else. And that’s something that I’m very proud of.”
