Pina Palau – Patti’s Words

The acoustic guitar strums accompanied by Pina Palau‘s riveting yet soothing storytelling vocals captivate from the very start of this single, Patti’s Words. Enthralled by the story-line and Pina Palau‘s charming vocals, one is compelled to listen until the very end! And what a treat we receive nearing the end when a number of instruments join in and play in harmonious agreement to the delight of our ears.

Who better to tell us about Patti’s Words than the young Swiss artist herself. Pina Palau wrote on social media that, «The song was inspired by Patti Smith’s autobiography Just Kids. Inspired, meaning that: shortly after I finished the book, I stuffed my backpack full of clothes, grabbed my guitar case and flew out to New York. Although, the city I was looking for, with all its grit and decadent glamour, was nowhere to be found, the trip turned out to be nourishing in other very profound ways. First of all, it birthed this song! It also exposed the beauty hidden in the pursuit of the irrational and, with that, the notion that life, like the creative act, is often guided by a hidden internal logic that only reveals itself in hindsight. In that light, Patti’s Words isn’t so much a song about chasing “ghosts” or following in the footsteps of my idols, but a document of me as an artist coming into my own.»

Aren’t we all so glad that this talented singer-songwriter made that trip and decided to pursue her own artistic journey and of course create this song! Patti’s Words is the sophomore single from Pina Palau‘s much anticipated debut album titled Illusions which is set to be released some time this year! So be on the look out!
