Daniel Blake – Heartbreaker

The strong, steady paced strums of the acoustic guitar makes one’s head nod and foot tap in rhythm as soon as this song starts. Then Daniel Blake‘s glorious voice graces our ears in his latest release, Heartbreaker. The firm thudding drum beat in the background maintains the tempo until the chorus where, it slows and throbs almost like a heart, emphasising the falsetto vocals of Daniel Blake. The piano, cello, percussion and more intertwine to create a melodious tune.

Despite the upbeat pulse of the song Heartbreaker, there is a more ominous, melancholy mood to the lyrics. A longing, hurting, sadness can be felt. A break-up perhaps, a rupture of sorts or an undesired change, this song could echo your feelings and hopefully lift your spirits with its buoyant instrumentation.

A singer-songwriter, Daniel Blake was born in Phoenix but is now based in Los-Angeles. He has become more devoted to his music in the last two years, and aren’t we lucky and thankful that he has. Speaking about the song Heartbreaker, this talented artist said, “Heartbreaker came together because I wanted to write a song honoring Tom Petty. There is no one cooler and more honest than him. His musical talents and his not going to take crap from anyone attitude has inspired myself and so many other musicians/songwriters.”
