Leisure – Be With You

Things are, thankfully, getting better on the pandemic side of the world but we can all agree it marked us for life. However, this “interesting” situation and crazy-strange experience has produced some extraordinary pieces of music. Be With You from Leisure is definitely one of them. The kind of groove which will make your bottom cheeks dance by themselves. The left and then the right usually, well… if you’re lefthander like me of course! So put your headphones on and move that booty!

Be With You is the seventh track of the already legendary album Sunsetter, released in 2021. The same album where you can find Slipping Away. Or should I say, where you can find the essence of groove.
As mentioned before, the Sunsetter album was inspired mainly by that lockdown frustration we all felt at the time.

To be honest, in the lyrics of Be With You, I’m still not sure if Djeisan Suskov, Jaden Parkes, Josh Fountain, Tom Young, and Jordan Arts, the five members of Leisure, talk about kinky adult stuff or this incredible averting situation where you are forbidden to meet with your mates and play music.

The 5-piece New-Zealand band commented for Mundane magazine about Sunsetter: “I think the biggest influence was the changing of our own lives. Being forced to stay in one spot and shrink personal universes has allowed us some time to reflect upon what’s essential in terms of the band trajectory and our family lives and who we each want to be inside of those roles.“

Well, I know what I want to do right now and it is listening to Be With You and the Sunsetter album from Leisure! Go cheeks!
